Medet Asanovich Mashiev was born on October 10, 1970, in the village of Zhany-Aryk, Kara-Suu District, Osh Region. He graduated from the Jambyl Technological Institute of Light and Food Industry in 1992, specializing in grain storage and processing technology, earning the qualification of an engineer-technologist.

Mashiev began his career in 1992 at the Jalal-Abad Bread Products Plant (AO "Jalal-Abad Dan Azyk"), where he worked as a mill operator and engineer-technologist until 1999. From 1999 to 2004, he served as an engineer-technologist at the private company "Dan-Yug." In September 2006, he became the director of the private company "Thomas," a position he held until November 2009. Between 2010 and 2012, he directed the Jalal-Abad Oil Refining Plant. From 2012 to 2013, he held the roles of deputy director and director at "Thomas and Co."

In 2013, Mashiev returned to the Jalal-Abad Oil Refining Plant as its director, a position he maintained until 2014. From 2016 to 2017, he worked at "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan," specifically at the Jalalabatgaz branch, as a specialist in occupational safety, industrial security, environmental protection, and energy conservation. Later in 2017, he became a foreman in the gas pipeline and equipment service department at the same branch. From 2017 to 2019, he served as the head of the intra-household gas equipment service department.

In 2020, Mashiev was appointed as the deputy chairman of the State Property Management Fund under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. He held this position until 2021 when he became the deputy chairman of the State Property Management Fund under the Ministry of Investments of the Kyrgyz Republic. From 2022 to 2023, he served as the deputy head of the State Property Management Fund under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic. In 2023, he was promoted to the first deputy director of the State Agency for Management of State Property under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In 2024, Mashiev was appointed as the deputy minister of natural resources, ecology, and technical supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic. In September 2024, he was promoted to the position of minister of natural resources, ecology, and technical supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, a role he continues to hold as of 2025.
