Nicholas Pomeroy is a senior energy executive and strategic adviser with more than two decades of leadership across Kazakhstan and Central Asia’s oil, gas, and emerging hydrogen sectors. His career spans senior roles bridging industry, government, and international investment in the region’s evolving energy landscape.
He previously served as CEO of Fortescue Future Industries (Kazakhstan), where he led one of Central Asia’s most ambitious renewable hydrogen and green energy initiatives. Earlier, he co-founded KMGAutomation, a joint venture between Schneider Electric and KazMunayGas, created to modernise Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas infrastructure through advanced automation and digital transformation.
Nicholas is a Director of the British–Kazakh Society and a member of its Energy Working Group Committee, contributing to high-level dialogue on energy transition, industrial modernisation, and sustainable investment. He is also engaged in research on Central Asia’s energy transition and regional development, focusing on practical pathways for low-carbon growth and economic diversification.
